FISHING (ANGLING)
Fishing is a great thrill for an angler. Angling is allowed in certain areas in buffer region of Corbett Park, after taking permits from forest department. Some spots in Ramganga, Kosi and Mandal rivers are good for angling.It is a wonderful experience at the Kosi river (near Corbett jungle treasure) and you would love doing it. The fishing rod and other essentials can be made available on request. The Ramganga and Kosi River is famous for Mahaseer & Catfish.
BIRD WATCHING
Bird watching is the observation and study of birds with the naked eye or through a device like binoculars. Birding often involves an important auditory component, as many of their species are more readily detected by ear than by eye. Most birders and birdwatchers pursue this activity for recreational or social reasons.
JUNGLE TREKKING
Jungle Trekking is a great experience in the areas around the reserve forest and along the various hill tracks. Corbett Jungle Treasure Resort offers a magnificent jungle trekking package from late autumn to spring and it covers virtually the whole year including winter. October - June is the best period for trekking.
RAPPELLING
Rappelling is a specialized climbing technique that is used to descend from mountains and cliffs by making a controlled slide down a fixed rope. The climbing rope is anchored to a cliff with artificial anchors like cams, pitons, and bolts or natural anchors like trees and boulders. Usually the rope is either doubled with the midpoint at the anchors or tied to another climbing rope. The climber then uses a rappel device which utilizes the friction of the rope through the device to control his descent as he literally slides down the fixed rope to a ledge or the cliff-base.
